Dental Insurances
Texan Smile Family & Cosmetic Dentistry works with many PPO dental insurance plans and helps patients understand how their benefits may apply to recommended dental treatment.
Before your visit, provide our team with your dental insurance information. We can request benefit details from your insurance company, review the information available to us and help estimate your expected patient portion before treatment.

How Texan Smile Helps With Dental Insurance
Dental insurance can be confusing because benefits, deductibles, annual maximums and coverage rules vary from one plan to another. Our team can help you work through the information provided by your insurance carrier.
- Collect your insurance information before your appointment.
- Request benefit information from your dental insurance company.
- Review applicable deductibles, maximums and coverage information available for your plan.
- Prepare a treatment estimate based on the benefit information supplied by your insurer.
- Submit eligible dental claims to the insurance company.
- Help you understand your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and any remaining patient balance.
Important: Insurance benefit verification and treatment estimates are not guarantees of payment. Your insurance company makes the final determination regarding coverage and benefits.
PPO Dental Insurance Plans We Work With
Texan Smile works with many PPO dental insurance plans. Some of the insurance companies currently listed with our practice include:
- Aetna
- Ameritas
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Careington
- Cigna
- Delta Dental
- Guardian
- Humana

Your specific plan matters. Network participation and benefits can vary by employer, insurance product and individual plan. Please call our office with your insurance information so our team can check the details that apply to you.
In-Network and Out-of-Network PPO Dental Insurance
Having PPO dental insurance does not necessarily mean you can only visit an in-network dentist. Depending on your specific plan, you may also have benefits when receiving care from an out-of-network provider.
If your Texan Smile visit is considered out of network under your plan, our team can still help submit eligible insurance claims as a courtesy to you. Your insurance company will determine how the claim is processed and how much it will pay according to your individual benefits.
If you are unsure about your network status, call us before your visit. We can review the information available for your specific policy.
How Dental Treatment Estimates Work
After Dr. Sneha Xavier evaluates your dental needs and recommends treatment, our team can prepare an estimate using the insurance benefit information available to us.
Your estimate may consider factors such as your deductible, remaining annual maximum, applicable coverage percentage and information your insurer provides regarding the recommended procedure.
The amount shown is an estimate rather than a guarantee. Your final insurance payment is determined by your insurance carrier after the claim is processed.
What Does Dental Insurance Cover?
Coverage varies significantly by plan. Dental insurance policies may categorize services differently and may apply deductibles, waiting periods, frequency limits, annual maximums or other restrictions.
Some plans provide stronger benefits for preventive services such as exams and cleanings, while restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, root canal treatment or tooth replacement may involve a greater patient portion.
Cosmetic treatments may have limited or no insurance coverage depending on the reason for treatment and the terms of your plan.
Because every plan is different, the best way to understand your benefits is to review your specific policy rather than relying on a standard coverage percentage.
What If I Don’t Have Dental Insurance?
You do not need dental insurance to receive care at Texan Smile. If you are paying for treatment without insurance or have a larger out-of-pocket portion, payment and financing options may be available.
